Default [XBMC] BBC Player - video addon

    MX BBC Payer

    A video addon

    I have written a video addon called MX BBC Payer (live BBC Terrestrial TV channels in the UK) inspired by Shani_08, in SD and it works well on things I have tested it on like;

    - Gotham (written for gotham)
    - Frodo 12.0,12.2 and 12.3
    - Mac
    - Linux
    - Wintel
    - Android set top boxes (Coco & MX2 boxes)
    - Tested in New Zealand and Thailand and works well even with a tethered mobile hotspot from my phone

    Screenshot

Note use the display settings to set icons, lists, fanart etc (was written with the Sio2-X skin in mind)

    Info

    Addon Download
in Fusion can be download from Fusion under

    Description
This is a live TV addon with all the BBC SD TV channels, that will work in most countries world wide. It is inspired by the new F4M code by Shani_08 that allows you to stream in multi speed as you will see in the addon, it supports internet speed or 2/8/16mbis streaming speed and the difference in quality is very noticeable.

    Installation
This addon MUST be installed from the MX.repository (not as a stand alone zip file) as it has a dependency installed with it called f4mproxy by Shani_08. So download the repo here - in Fusion and then select MX BBC Player from the repo to install it.

    Known issues
This addon requires the f4mproxy that will be automatically installed when you install the MX repo, else it will give a dependency error
You will need at least 2mbis for this to work - see the addon information for more details

Please enjoy, tell your friends and make sure this is always free & feedback welcomed.

More details here on More information on Shani_08 f4m tester see this

    If the mx.repo is empty which it is not by the way, simply delete the repo .. and assuming you have the XBMCHUB Fusion repo installed;

then go to system > addons > install from zip file >fusion > world >thai > and click on mx.respository
It will then install the repo,

then go to system > addons > get addons > mx.repository > click on MX BBC Player and then install
and it will install and be under video addons > MX BBC Player

It could simply be a XBMC cache issue with your box .. or as we have found a DNS issue, due to a stale DHCP DNS

yes on the PC/Mac that is normal way of doing it (force refresh or update), but that does not work for all devices, and I assumed he had done this already ..

Can't see any options to delete mx repository on Ouya how do you delete a repository on android XBMC?
or how do you right click a repository using ouya bluetooth controller to update repository?

My android box I either press the blue MENU button or the one that look like this

    +-+
    |-|
    |-|

or better still refer to your boxes user manual, it should be there..

I tried it without unblockus and 8.8.8.8 unblocked it still is empty after forced refresh or reinstalled MX Repository v1.0.1
Maybe Beyond XBMC isn't compatible with MX Repository?

what is your android security settings set up under settings? do you have unknown sources enabled? As I run out of ideas to what it can be as I said above it is all working 100% or worst case senario, try deleting your xbmc data under android settings > apps >xbmc and it will do a 1st start (new install) and try from scratch .

I'm in the same boat as pheggie with xbmc for ouya. Downloaded, updated, empty.
I'll try above and get back after footy.

It has got be down to your box (never used the ouya as I do not play games) and if it is like the android R8 / Coco boxes (looks like an ATV 3) yes it could well be the box as they do not like the script.video.F4mProxy, python dependency(s) also in the repo that is needed for the MX BBC Player, do not like it at all, as it has a little processor in it ..

If you guys have chrome installed and 500k of free space on your box, let me know and I will give you the direct zip links to try ..

jonc...Just like the others, I suffered the same woes on a win 7 xbmc edition.

I cleared my cache, updated mx repository and just as that happened, we got a 5 hour blackout!! I rebooted just now,and the addon is in my folders, and plays perfectly.

THANK YOU for your help here, the pm's you also did to assist, and for giving this to us.

I've had success with a back door method.
If you download the thai tv from xbmc addon installer,it asks permission to download the repository. When it does this, all of jonc addons appear.
    Good stuff.

ok glad it is all working for you, by doing that you have refreshed your cache (there is the problem) and the addons.xml is refreshed in XBMC and the repo works. So thanks for the heads up, never had that cache issue - fingers crossed.

I do have one issue - maybe speed, ouya -all your addons work for me except bbc. Irrespective of which speed i select I can only get say 5 seconds of video and then it freezes while the audio keeps going in the background. I also get a pop up about a local proxy just before it starts. Any clues jonc?
