Yatse is far more feature packed ;-) highly recommend it.

Hearing you BillyGoat, does seem to come down to Popularity, Support and Firmware, regardless of specs
Just like so many toys before these ones.

Will not take many further advances in hardware, future is looking good.

I wonder how many are clones?

Of the G-Box Midnight MX2 boxes a few but most of them are MX & MX2 boxes in their own right.

Matricom were one of the first to OEM the MX range of Android boxes from China and brand it in the US, so the issue of clones is not the same. We sell and use the non-OEM MX2 units here but I would never sell my customers the Matricom version as frankly their implementation of their OS limits these boxes IMHO.

As many will tell you it is the OS platform implementation that cripples these boxes. But having said that done the right way they are a first rate box.

I still see these, whether clones or not, I know nothing, but the same type listed along with these are double or triple the cost?

    Yes $28 is insane.

It is hard for us mere mortals to know what the xbmc experts are specifically talking about.
Links and directions aren't very forthcoming. They all have MX or MX2 stamped on them, how is anyone meant to know the difference?

Maybe "done the right way", those boxes work fine viewer?

Read that if you'd like to be confused

Seems one poster summed it up, there is no one "best" box, they are all in their infancy.
Until a rock solid Hardware and Firmware solution hits the market which the majority are happy with, its all over the place.
Like the early E1 and E2 days or even Android Phones until it boiled down to only a couple of high end handsets to choose from.

Still very much a hobbyist toy, people having boxes that die in 2 hours or go into boot cycles.
Looks like its a case of hope for the best and suck it and see.

Seems the more i read, the more i see people posting that they are happy with the Ouya box.

Still, i am no closer to knowing what Android based box to buy, nor and more importantly, which to avoid!

I do not have one on Austech. I am here to join in the community and help where I can, not to flog my wares .. anyway they are on but no point as the cost of freight is a killer.. but they are a complete solution working out of the box with nothing needed to be done to them.

Yes they do, but I wrote my own add on which I am happy to share the code for, where you simply add the all the html code for the transponder in use, and bingo it is all in a playist and can be used on all XBMC boxes in your property.

I have 3 old dm800's doing this feeding 8 MX2's in the house here.

Nice one jonc, yes that would be the next step, to just have them listed a separate channels.
Think i'll be happy for it to load the box details each time though. But thanks for the offer
Just nice to know the app works on those boxes.

I just got this one of these I'll need a bit more time to play around with it before deciding if I made the right choice or not but initial impressions are quite good, nice interface, very snappy

    How about a bulk buy?
I'm thinking Admin could set something up with you to ship over a quantity and then ship or pickup here in Aust?
Because quite frankly I would rather buy from you.

    Maybe get some numbers together?????????
