Car Symbols won't change on oneXL

Can someone help me. I updated my oneXL through the Tomtom connection and car symbols were added but they will not work. I have contacted Tomtom help several times but everything they suggest fails. Each time I have tried to change a symbol the unit tells me car symbol changed but it doesn't.
My tomtom is the model that doesn't have an SD card.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks Puca it now works fine. You wouldn't believe the number of times I rang Tomtom help over this. Had me deleteting maps, changing settings and all thoughts of things. At one stage Tom tom wouldn't work because of there help. But when it turns out something as simple as this I am gobsmacked.
