Default 3D Movie File Playback problems

We have a brand new Samsung 3D Led HD TV and a Samsung Blue Ray 3D Player and 3D Glasses that came with it.
I have been given a HDD with a load of 3D movies on it. When i plug the HDD into the USB on the tv and play them i am getting a Duplicate picture side by side, I am let to believe the picture should be slightly offset over the top of each other but not completely seperate to each other
Even downloaded 3D movies playback are the same. Obviously ive missed something but unsure of what? any help appreciated.

Does the TV have any settings to up the frame resolution on USB media input and to select interlaced.

Does the 3D player have a USB input if so try the HDD through it.

Maybe post up the model number of the TV

There are a number of 3D formats that videos can be created and rendered in. Side By Side aka SBS is one of them. In this format, it is, as you noted, two side by side frames of the video. This is actually one of the more flexible versions of 3D video since it can be re-rendered in a variety of other formats, such as Anaglyph (the old fashioned red/green) or other more modern techniques, such as alternating images rapidly. If you are streaming from a computer to your television, try downloading a free video player such as KMPlayer, which supports a variety of 3D formats and can convert SBS video to other 3D video formats on the fly. There are also some other freeware options out there if you look around. Just be careful during the installation process that you choose which file formats you do and don't want to be associated with it. You don't need to make it the default player for those formats in order to play them at all, it will still play them. I prefer to keep Windows Media Player as my default, for example, and only use KMPlayer when I am watching 3D movies.

I had the same problem with 3D movies from a HDD. On top of the screen was a menu and on the right hand side was an option to change it.
I'll have a look later and let you know exactly.

Just checked it out.I have a Samsung 3D Blue ray player with smart tv.
The Tv is a Kogan 55" 3D tv I bought over a year ago. When I play a 3 D movie from the hdd I get 2 pictures side by side.
On top of the screen is a menu like " stop-fb-ff-pause" like the menu on a player.Scrolling all the way to the right the last option is 3D.Clicking on it it gives several option like 3D -2D to 3D.on 3 D I change to 1 picture and all is fine.
(Maybe you have the same HDD as me,lol)
    Hope this helps.

Press the 3D button on your remote, then you can choose the side by side option.
