Thats a good idea ssratus, i had the unit in my bedroom for a while, now way, the room was like daylight.
Its bad enough in the lounge.

I will open my UGOOS unit and photo the board to see what chips are on it.
Just out of interest and comparison.

I thought a few others that have had multiple units of different sources may have done the same.
Seems a few lesser chip sets can be used.

Mmmmm same ad word for word
Same feedback of usb charging cables
    Same "other items" for sale
    Yet different sellers name
Both had a very low amount of sales for an Asian seller

Looks like a money grab to me (Given that M8 at the Trade Show is $40 if you order 1000 units), then add freight, the remote and profit.... Oh well, i've always wanted to see what PayPal do for you

Oh well, can only wait and see.
interested to see what comes of this, can't have been the real deal at the price though

Anyone who also looks at some of my threads will see that I have tried to purchase a number of the android hdmi sticks to no avail via the cheapo ebay ads.

Three of those went to paypal resolution, and all three were reversed and credited back via paypal.

I have on the go at the moment 2x android boxes at resolution for $28 and 1 x $14 stick that have not been received within 30 days of payment...paypal chasing those.

I also a week or so ago, went for one like mentioned here, box and keyboard that shows as posted, wondering if they will appear.

Yep, you bid/buy these knowing they may be "dodgie", but paypal has been very good every time, and as such have no worries if/when I do use paypal for payment of my ebay purchases.

I asked the seller of the above the following questions:

Do you offer a Tracking Number?
    Are these units Genuine?
After payment, when do you ship out?
They provided the following answers, 3 hours later:

Hello Dear Friends: We will provide tracking code to you. It is a genuine product. Shipped within 24-48 hours after payment. Thank you!
I'll be amazed if i am issued a Tracking Number, but will post back if it happens.
I was happy paying $100 for these units, as i think they offer value for money at that price (compared to a WDTV Live SMP for the same price) and considering the WDTV will have 2 lots of mark up and profit, the realistic price of the M8 units from China should be around the $30 to $40 mark (perhaps less)... No idea how they do the freight so cheap?

    Without getting to far Off-Topic.
I find 30days from China a good time, most of my stuff takes 45days +, but it eventually gets here (and thats most from SmellyExpress).
I have seen people here quote 5 days from China, personally, i've Never seen it, especially considering it takes most of them a good week to even get your product out into the local mail system, on the way to the airport.
I had some Shoes that have taken 30days just to be sent out, Tracking No. provided, 30days after payment.

EDIT: Shoes turned up today, took a good 60Days without checking exactly, i'd probably say a little more.

Where did you get your prices from?

Why haven't you quoted your supplier, if you are asking others to?
Any reason why your prices go UP when over 500 units?

EDIT: My unit has been shipped to Post Office, Tracking details have been provided.

Not worth the debate. When something seems too good to be true it almost certainly is. I've placed a bet on a longshot and am not holding my breath. Only time will tell for sure.

For those with the Ugoos MBOX M8 AMLOGIC S802

    Firmware update and proceedure

This this the firmware that came with mine as purchased, but it might be useful for others.
Not sure if it will work on other M8 Amoligic branded boxes.

Friends M8 arrived from China (took 7 Days he told me).

His is on left, mine on right.

Already his newer unit is better.
    1. Comes with a newer version of xbmc pre installed (XBMC 13.0 Git:20140514-61e0778 (Compiled: May 16 2014))
    2. Has no Chinese text above main menu
    3. Has May 30th Kernel
    4. MAC address's are different, but its only the last 4 digits that are different.

Will post more as I find it. Only had it for 10minutes so far.
Also comes with a Inbuilt User manual.

    Which mine does not.

To add, both the above units display 1080p 60Hz no worries and no issues with lost audio within xbmc.

There is also a newer firmware compilation for the square M8 box, dated 17/06/2014.
Which is newer than what has come pre installed on the above 2 units.

    Improvements are:
    1. with XBMC new version 13.1 installed
    2. the screen problem with video playback when the resolution is not 1080P
    3. support 4K*2K video now

The flip side to having the latest and greatest in XMBC also has its flip sides tho, as not all add-ons are compatible
    On 12.3 they are

Like this? (as snapped from DealsPrime YouTube clip

My box from them only get s a score of 18631, in the DealsPrime video it is 23458, and on Geekbuys they show 32000.
Not sure if that means a lot of different hardware or if its just resources being used at the time.
Big difference though... anyway, not get bogged down with useless benchmarks.
I just it was worth a mention.

Is it essential to get a google acc?
Or can you get stuff without it?
I'm a Apple man. And this android stuff is alien to me.
