Went to Macca's to have my usual day off breeky, 2 pieces of raisin toast with jam and a soy chai.
when my order turned up the jam was different, i asked where the usual was and the answer was that some one complained that the old jam wasn't halal.
WTF
If I complain that the new jam is Halal, will I get my old variety back???????

Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat or drink under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.
The most common example of non-halal (or haraam) food is pork. While pork is the only meat that cannot be eaten by Muslims at all (due to historically, culturally, and religiously perceived hygienic concerns), foods other than pork can also be haraam. The criteria for non-pork items include their source, the cause of the animal's death, and how it was processed.
The food must come from a supplier that uses halal practices. Specifically, the slaughter must be performed by a Muslim, who must precede the slaughter by invoking the name of Allah, most commonly by saying "Bismillah" ("In the name of God") and then three times "Allahu akbar" (God is the greatest). Then, the animal must be slaughtered with a sharp knife by cutting the throat, windpipe and the blood vessels in the neck, causing the animal’s death without cutting the spinal cord. Lastly, the blood from the veins must be drained.
Muslims must also ensure that all foods (particularly processed foods), as well as non-food items like cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, are halal. Frequently, these products contain animal by-products or other ingredients that are not permissible for Muslims to eat or use on their bodies.
Explicitly forbidden[edit]
A variety of substances are considered as harmful (haraam) for humans to consume and, therefore, forbidden as per various Qurʼanic verses:
Pork[5]
Animals slaughtered in the name of anyone but "Allah". All that has been dedicated or offered in sacrifice to an idolatrous altar or saint or a person considered to be "divine"[5][6]
Carrion (carcasses of dead animals)[5][clarification needed]
An animal that has been strangled, beaten (to death), killed by a fall, gored (to death), or savaged by a beast of prey (unless finished off by a human)[6]
Blood[6]
Food over which Allah's name is not pronounced[7]
Intoxicants and alcoholic beverages[8]
These verses also have information regarding halal foods: 2:173, 5:5, and 6:118-119, 121.

so according to this, someone needs to pronounce the name of Allah over the Jam............
or the jam is slaughtered correctly
or the jam can't be pork
or the jam can't be christian
or the jam can't be alcoholic
or the jam can't be beaten to death
hmmmmmm poor jam

Imagine if we complained about the jam being halal in a Muslim country and demand it should be replaced with non-halal jam.
Instant death!
If they don't like our Aussie fare..... they can all piss off to a Muslim country.
Oh wait..... they left one to come here because they didn't like it there, but then try to make here, like where they came from.

That's all good and well freakee1 but give us the option.
I don't have a problem with halal food, but don't take away my right to choose. Run both products side by side and select, don't dictate.

Don't get wrong, but:
Muslims already have their own shools, "churches", cultural centres, lock up time for swimming pools and their own laws.
If they are here on a visa it means they are guests - and as such should respect the things as they are in their guest country.
If they are Australian citizens they have sworn an oth on this country and it's way of life - I see no respect at all from them in regards to the values they gave them a new passport.
Being open and understanding for other cultures does not mean to bend down for them whenever possible.
As non-muslims in a muslim country we face death for not following their rules - here they get Centrelink benefits and free education for their kids plus more rights than non-muslim Australians.
Is it just me or is there really something completely wrong in the way this country treats muslims?
What comes next? All meat at coles and Woolies halal?
Or extra halal shopping ceters? How about some seats in the parliament so they can represent their "needs" even better?
If they don't like food Australins produce than they should simply not eat it and shut up, otherwise they are quite welcome to go back to where they came from.
Treating Australians and their lifestyle like (censored) but complain we won't do it the halal way - for (censored) sake, this is Australia, except it the way it is or leave it!

this really sux - YOU are the one paying for the product so YOU should be the one that decides what you want.
if you want non halal jam then you should be sold non halal jam.
maybe these retarded cave dwellers should open thier own chain of Maccas , or KFC or whatever , that way they can get what they want without inflicting their senseless religious beliefs onto everyone else.
might have to go back to the donuts mate
I suppose it is not fair to attribute blame on the Muslim community for the decisions made by Pollies, corporations and civil libertarians.
As VroomVroom said, choice. Whats wrong with that????

Exactly... and you choose to have Soy Chai Latte!
Come on mate, you left the door wide open for that one. I do understand people drink it for a reason generally. My Aunty tried to make me drink Soy in coffee once, ewwwwww yukk!, it tasted like cardboard!
I'd say the Jam is the least of your concerns when it comes to things tasting different
