    bOb,

A bit more information would be useful, but given the information you have supplied, let me see if I have this right.

You have a Ddigital box which you used in the UK and now you have brought it here to Australia and it doesn't work. Well for starters what have you connected the box to Telstra/foxtel terrestrial cable? Optus cable? Satellite feed? More importantly what card are you trying to use? If its what you had in the UK then its useless here. There are many variables with this problem and your expectations might be a little high. Gives us some more info and we might be able to steer you in the right direction.

    P.S
This thread should be in the cable section.

    Hi Myf,
and thanks for a quick reply.

    1. am sorry this is in a wrong section but I will be more than happy if an admin can move it there.

    2. I have connected my box to a foxtel cable.
    3. I used my DDigtal box for cable TV is UK and thought it will be simply to scan channeks here.

Put me in the right direction please.

    Cheers!

I don't want to miss the Olympic. I had to admit I have request that box send here because of the Olympics.

    Okay bOb,

    Here are your problems:
    1) Is the foxtel cable active?
    2) When using foxtel cable only certain STB's will work and in particular the popular choice here is Dreambox 500C
    3) You will need a geniune subscription card from Foxtel

    OR

Alternatively you will need go about this differently like getting together with some mates and sharing some genuine Foxtel boxes (1 person gets 3 boxes installed at his place then rents the other two out) or you can go card sharing and there are enough posts about that. Or you can be a satellite newbie put a dish up get a decoder and source the now famous G2 card and there are millions of posts on this.

    Good luck.

Foxtel is not showing the Olympics. Channel 7 have the rights and are Flogging the 'TIVO' for it.
The will have extra channels available on HD only. Any HD-T will pick it up.

Start scanning asia 3, asia 2 c-band 0r they seem to think NSS6 for the KU side of things.

I think you should just get a sub and pay for it since you don't have the slightest idea whats going on.

Well I'm sure if you leave your thumb sticking out long enough one of the many "card sharing" pirates that float around the various forums ( not this one ) these days will pick you up in their cut price unofficial reseller van and run you down the road of TV pleasure.

go to aldi, buy a digital set top box, buy an aerial, and hook it up.

You then have channel 7 and SBS, and the olympics

Or if you're really cheap, just hook an aerial up and use analogue.

No hncplus won't work anymore. The final version had some really advanced cutpoint algo's and worked 100% in real time. That means a perfect picture. I don't think that version was ever posted here.

Bob, For $700 I can hook you up with a special box that will get you channel 7 for free for ever so you can watch the olympics.
I will need to install a special Dipole at your house to receive it.

After it's installed there will be no monthly subscription fees or anything, you can watch channel 7 for free with this box and dipole setup.

PM me and let me know what suburb you're in if you are interested in having this installed.
