Default lost user number home security system

I have just purchased a home with a Sierra alarm system, it is on of these model numbers: S5010, S5011, S5012. I have armed it and then discovered that the 4 digit user code that the vendor has given me does not work. I cannot disarm the alarm. Please advise how I could fix this. Will killing the power to the alarm panel disarm the alarm so it does not keep going off? Can I reset the alarm any other way? How can I get a valid user number? Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thanks

    Provocative username...

Have you tried to get the right code?

Without it your only option is to physically disable it and/or arrange for a security contractor to reprogram (or much better yet replace) the unit.

    Step 1: Remove power.
Step 2: Remove battery (inside the metal control panel box)
Optional Step 3: Remove control panel and keypad.
Step 4: Find a large open area. You are going to need some chemicals, a video camera and a Youtube account.

The user name relates to an issue I had previously. Still number one on my list of never-use-again companies. They just pip Optus.

Trying to get code but vendor overseas and not answering emails.

Thanks for advice, why do you say better to replace, is this system ordinary?

If I get a security contractor out to reprogram wont they need the code too?

    Very.

Probably not. They can reset it with brute force and program from scratch.
