Same happening ATM, upto 30 seconds to open any thread.
That ping time is about average for a site located in the US mick.
The problem appears to be with one of our addons. However, a bigger problem is we dont know which one and we have lots so all I can really do is go though them one by one and try and isolate it.
This is going to be very slow going with how long its going to take and I dont really have the time. So I will just have to plug away at it as best I can when I have time to.
Some hacks and addons may be turned of or disabled at various times while this happens so apologies in advance. It is not possible to advise what or when this will happen.
I have possibly traced it to VB Seo being the cause. I am not sure why, but its figuring quite prominently at times with heavy server load.
VB Seo is an addon that rewrites the url's of each thread we create to a url that is more attractive to search engines, particuarly Google.
VB Seo went out of business 12 months ago so there is no support. As there is a bit of danger with removing it, I am going to employ an expert to do it. Otherwise there is a danger of 404 erroring all our pages and we must make sure all our pages are valid active and being picked up by search engines as well as all future url's.

Thanks admin.
Running very slow again ATM.
Runs sweet here.
Main PC: INTEL CORE i7 4930k | ASUS P9X79-PRO | 16GB G-SKILL 2400MHz RAM | GTX 780 3GB PHANTOM GLH EDITION | SAMSUNG 840 PRO 256GB | 2 X 1TB WD RE4 | 2TB WD GREEN | SILVERSTONE STRIDER 1200W GOLD | HAF-X w/ DEMCI FLEX FILTERS | SWIFTECH H320 AIO | WINDOWS 8.1 PRO w/ MEDIA CENTRE x64.
Running ok here atm.
It comes and goes unfortunately.
Apologies for the downtime......thats the first outage we have had with this host. It wasnt just us, there was a major outage in Los Angeles.
I am not happy with the support I am getting on this matter (and a few other things that I wont go in to) nor our server speed in general and we will be changing hosts soon. Its not a big process anymore and much easier as we use CPanel and there shouldnt be anydown time. Unless your ISP is a little slow on DNS updates you probably wont notice anything.
We will be moving to either a VPS with full SSD drives or a Hybrid with SSD.
Thanks again for the time and effort you put into keeping this service running, especially given your on going health issues.

For most of my life, I lived a delusion
Thanks mate, its always nice to hear someone say that
Unfortunately what we have at the moment isnt performing to the standard we expect, and it isnt helped by a very annoying intermittent problem. It gives us an opportunity to make use of SSD drives which are so much faster than conventional hard drives. After confirming that the issue is still there with the new host, I will be paying an expert to fix it.
I am looking forward to getting this sorted out so none of us have to deal with slow pages.
I for one would not mind an increase in the Premium Members subscription fee if that's what it needs.

I appreciate the offer mate, but it wont be needed. I have found something with high recommendations in our price range, so all good.
I have purchased new hosting on a VPS with SSD drives. If it doesnt help our problems once I am satisfied everything is working as it should be, we still have the option of moving up to a hybrid server (basically its in between a VPS and a Dedicated Server) which is still in our budget range.
Don't know if we've swapped over yet or not, but the site seems to be running quite well for me ATM.
No, we havent moved, for some reason we are having a good day
Ok, our new VPS has been commissioned so I am now putting a migration request in to move the site. I must say it was a surprise logging in to Cpanel/WHM and clicking on Server Information and seeing 24 CPU's listed We have CPU priority X 4.
Move in progress.
