I dont have an exact time for doing the forum upgrade, I need to do a bit of research first as we have a number of different third party addons and I need to try and work out if this upgrade is going to stop them working. Not in general, I will need to deal with each one individually so its a bit time intensive.

Edit : I will get around to it this week though at some stage and try and do it at the least busy time.

Just to advise I got the 'Wait 30 seconds' when I did a reply.

I waited a couple of minutes then went to the Forum homepage and back to the post and it had posted ok.
I did it that way to avoid a double post which used to happen most times before.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

You're not kidding chief, 'Go Advanced' has same issue, I'm sure it's related.

Thanks for the notification, I thought it was my PC. Saved me time investigating
    Cheers, Tiny

Not that its much help, but it doesnt seem to be every post.

I will have to leave it as is for the moment until the forum upgrade, I think its related to our forum and PHP versions incompatibility. I have found an incompatability that the new PHP version has with the VBulletin editor.

After a day of searching ,it looks like most of our major addons should be ok , so I can start getting organised.

Until this is fixed I found that if you want to edit a post that comes up blank in the edit field, it can be done by first copy your post to clipboard, select edit then if the field is blank, paste, then edit your post, save changes.
Do not select preview changes as it will go blank again, you could of course copy & paste again, it's a bit fiddly however it works.

Another work around is open your post in 2 tabs & select edit in one of them, copy across to the edit field.

Same applies to go advanced & preview post.

Hope that helps for anyone that really needs to edit a post until the problem is found or the solution is executed.
    Cheers, Tiny

I am off to see a specialist today , I am struggling to get much done as I can only do about 15 minutes at a time on a computer.

Either way, we will still be upgrading but I am more than likely going to have to pay a professional to do it as I cant guarantee I can sit through the time required to do it (at least a couple of hours...more if there are issues with our addons, and I cant simply walk away when I need to and leave it unfinished.

    I will post back later.

    Hmmm....that was fun......not.

I now have to go off for some sort of scan I have never even heard of. I only had an MRI a couple of months ago, I thought that would have covered it. I will be glowing in the dark for years with the amount I have had recently.

I cant guarantee I can sit through a couple of hours of upgrades (plus any possible problems), so I am employing Dragon Byte Technology (who write most of the third party VBulletin addons these days) to do the job. Its going to cost, but I will get them to fix any outstanding problems.

Something? aren't there logs or something to show who/what was visiting at that time?

We are still having SEO problems and our SEO software will have to be removed completely. Its not an easy job as I mentioned earlier.
