    If lightning develops an affinity with your dish I strongly suspect that the power board will merely roll over and pretend that it's Swiss.

    The power board approach will offer protection only against possible damage due to "static" discharge (and that depends on the design of the board).

    Why don't you do the obvious and earth the dish and pole via suitable earthing cable to a copper earth stake? Both are readily available from electrical wholesalers and probably from other outlets such as Bunnings.

    But bear in mind that the protection which this offers will depend on the nature of the strike. It won't survive a direct hit!

    A grounding block, similar to that pictured, is easily constructed by making a small metal bracket and fixing an "F" joiner to it (and inserting it into the co-axial feedline).
