Bosch solution 16+/64 Serial connection to software
Hi,
I always use my laptop with the Bosch soulution link software to connect to Bosch solution 16+ and 64 panel via the serial port for programming as i find it much easier and it makes a backup of the programming i have not had many problems with this but recently my workmate went to a site which i programmed with the laptpop where he had to ad an extra relay output expander which he could not get working for some time then he said he defaulted the panel and reprogrammed it on the keypad and it started working he thinks that this was caused by the laptop be used to program it. i was wondering if anyone else thinks that the software can cause this and if others think it is a good or bad idea to use the software for programming thank you any advice is appreciated.

Hi watchdog checked the manual but it says menu 6-0-1 is the rf status not to unlock lan?
Depends on which model panel the manual is referring too. Menu 601 is Lan secure for Solution 144 and 6000. My 16+ manual also has this but Sol 64 had RF Status but depends on manual version and panel version and another 64 manual had lan secure.
I also don't think it can be locked in software, has to be done on keypad.

Ok thanks for the clarification also do you think the software can corrupt the panel data?
I don't think the software can corrupt panel data. Sometimes you do need to power cycle the panel after adding modules.
I normally do most new jobs with laptop and software.
