Anyway, i tried the first trick on my Uncle at lunch time, he put his 2 fingers in exactly the right spot to balance the cane.... Yup, there went that idea down the shit shoot.
I've been holding off posting a reply until the official explanations came out.
The one flipping the phone had me puzzled. It's common to see this behaviour with something like a tennis racket and I've been able to flip it so that it doesn't rotate in another axis
but I've never understood why it was unpredictable. (now I know). It says something about space craft manoeuvring too and has a lot to do with an RC aircraft I'm testing at the moment.
The teabag one sucks, and my confusion was more about it not being a rocket but just being lifted by shit arse convection. I want a refund on that question !
But it was the answer on the cereal that was my favourite. Not that it has iron in it. That was too easy. But that somebody else mentioned the diamagnetism of water and they
have given such an excellent demonstration of it. Give that guy an A++ for his science. Towing plastic around with a magnet.
