    Default Magnetic Tape Eraser

Anyone know if a bulk tape eraser is still available commercially. (Thats a device that creates a magnetic field through which you pass your tape reel or cassette thereby erasing all content, including timecode, in one go) I havn't seen one for years, no, make that many years.

On the other hand what sort of core, winding and power supply would I need to build one suitable erase mini DV tapes.

I have looked around but it seems these devices have been consigned to history.

    G'Day,
Far from being consigned to history, more prevalent than ever.
This is but one of them for mini and micro tapes if not up to making your own.

    $24.50 incl. GST.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".
