    Default XPR 4550 Firmware upgrade

    Hi,

I have a XPR 4550 with AA firmware 01.05.10 that need to get up to 01.09.10 (which I have.)

It's my understanding that you have to first go to 01.06.20 (or so) to make this happen. Is this true, or is it safe to go direct?

I'm unable to find 01.06.20 so if I need to do an intermediate upgrade could anyone please supply it?

    Thanks

It should be safe to go direct. There was an minor issue arround the time of 1.07 but that has been cleared up.

Are you certain of that? I was just told on another venue that going from 01.05.10 to newer firmware required the intermediate step.

Sorry I am new to TRBO and am pretty confused.

I've never had any issues jumping multiple versions.

Some people have had issues and some have not. I jumped a TON of versions on my 6550 without any trouble.

If you feel safer going baby steps with firmware it costs you nothing but extra time. I've not heard or dealt with jumping multiple versions. However there are problems with some versions which MOL has pulled, which are well documented around the internet. The latest version released is safe and actually the best one yet for Gen 1 and Gen 2 radios.

    check out the firmware library.

you will need to provide more info like what version of firmware is in the unit now.

Thats a v1 radio. the current is v1.12.17. When upgrading your unit upgrade to v1.06 then upgrade to v1.12.17. The XPR is a AA region radio.
