    Default 5.8GHz AV Sender

This might be a good option to feed those Sat signals around the house and with the higher range with less interference (good old Aldi)

Well priced for a 5.8 GHz unit $89

those things are junk, sorry but if the walls are well insulated, or double brick or double story your chances of it working (properly) are slender. They can work, but i'd call them a low % product from my experience.
Cat 5 for sending A/V is your best bet & not much dearer. But if no can do any cabling, then take a punt.

    yes you sure can.
a run of cat5 from the room with your feed into a room with the 2nd outlet and a pair of these will do the trick.

They are under $100 a pair.
Distance is not an issue, i've done over 100m with no image / audio loss.
    melbourne satellites sell them.

if you have a look on the reslinx webpage they have a whole house distribution set up that runs over the antenna system & has IR kit as an add on that lets you change channels.

You can do a channel changing via cat5 but that would require something like a xantech IR kit (not cheap...~$375) if you want a good one that works all the time.

I have had faultless pictures with 2.4g units , I wouldnt expect a 5.8ghz to be any different ( better in range if anything ). I wouldnt tie up my cat 5 cabled house for that use when an AV sender is by far the easiest and cheapest option. Maybe you got a dud , like everything they vary in quality. I have had 2 different brands and both were fine.

The only reason I got rid of mine at the time was because I had too many things running on 2.4 ghz and had conflicts between the AV sender and a security camera. 5.8 ghz should reduce conflicts for most people.

I purchased a 2.4 unit but had problems with my cordless phone causing lines. Purchased a 5.8 and they are very directional and to put it bluntly pooperama. The 2.4 gave a much much better picture apart from the white lines. Ended up with the cat5 baluns from here

They are actually cheaper than when I brought them. And give a perfect picture. I still use the 5.8ghz av senders but just for the remote operation.
