What happens if I press alt + F4?
Yeah the US networks are on a different frequency. Although dunno what their 3G is now (HSDPA?) ANYWAY buy a quadband phone, or better yet buy a phone from somewhere in Asia, it should be a lot cheaper.
US also has(had?) a lot of CDMA. No good for us.

buyer beware, they are some people on ebay and even on this site selling phones that are from the "US"
pretty sure they are imported from china though
I hear the new iphone 3g in the USA for about $300...would this work here? if unlocked
