Another story to support dementia as the illness.... at only 61... very sad.

FORMER AC/DC rocker Malcolm Young is reportedly in an aged care home in Sydney being treated for dementia.
THE band recently revealed the rhythm guitarist and founding member had retired from the band and Fairfax Media report it's because Young is suffering from dementia.
The band revealed on Wednesday they will release their new album, Rock or Bust, on November 28 and that they will tour next year without Young. His nephew Stevie Young, who plays on the album, will also take his place on the tour.
Sources reportedly connected to the Young family told Fairfax that the 61-year-old rocker is a full-time patient at Lulworth House in Elizabeth Bay, in Sydney's eastern suburbs - the same home where former prime minister Gough Whitlam lives and where former NSW premier Neville Wran lived until his death earlier this year.

Its pretty cruel dementia........you end up in aged care no matter what your age.

Therein lies the problem, admin. There are no facilities for the younger generation who may, in fact, be sicker than those who are elderly. The facilities are geared towards those who are old and frail which is sometimes quite different to the needs of a "fit" younger person. The powers that be also tend to ignore those in the 10-70 age group as being able to "fend for themselves" and have the family support, which is not always the case. Not to take away from this particular thread as he is lucky that he has the wherewithal to pay for private accommodation.
