TV Shows Same Day as US & UK

I have noticed today that the TV show Scorpion S1 E2 has aired on channel 10 Australia only hours after airing on CBS America

& other shows like NCIS New Orleans, will be shown on channel 10 Australia only a short time after premiering on US television

basically CBS America is showing promos for the same TV show at the same time as channel 10 Australia .....

ABC Australia is also showing shows like Dr Who ...... sometimes at the exact same time as premiering on BBC in Britten .... etc ....

Also Foxtel are showing TV shows same day or only a short time after premiering in the US or other parts of the word .....


All I can say is Great work Guys .......

Channel ten can fast track shows all they want, but until they remove the outragous, oversized, self promoting show and station watermarks i will continue to download the shows i like from the net.

& I like it that our Local Providers are making an effort to provide content at the same time (or close to) as the rest of the world

You can bet this 'Same Day' screening is to reduce the incidence of 'Pirating' of a new show or episode.
Who can remember back when those extremely popular daytime 'Soapies' were 3 YEARS behind the US and it didnt matter to the company's because there was no other way to see the show but today due to massive changes in technology, near anyone with a computer and a 'Youtube' account could UPLOAD the program at almost the same time as its being screened and obviously those with a computer can Download it too.
This ability doesnt sit well with the Broadcasters who pay big fees to the producers and charge bigger fees to advertisers when its already been seen by a large portion of their viewers.

Except for the Time Zone differences, there is no reason not to do this and I think it will continue to happen with places like us (Australia) showing it simultaneously with the rest of the world and to have it rebroadcast again during our Prime Viewing time until the newness of the idea wears off and the Broadcasters work out if its worth doing.
