Default Do they replace the transmitting antenna for the retune?

In a couple of weeks time my nearest TV translator will be changed from Band 5 to Band 4 UHF as part of the 'restack' and I wondered apart from doing whatever is needed to the transmitter for the change of frequency, do they also change the antenna?
There are often debates about how necessary it is to have an antenna 'cut' to frequency and I have been a bit lax where receiving antenna's are concerned but it should be as close as possible for various reasons when transmitting, more so when the power output of transmitter is in hundreds or even thousands of Watts.

I have always been curious as to what the configuration of these panel antennas are and how they function.

Most of the high-power UHF TX antennas are either band 4, band 5, or wide band (eg: covers both bands 4 and 5).

Many of the low-power translators use antennas for a specific frequency range (eg: cover just the section of the band for the channels used) to maximise signal.

If the planned restack is outside the operating parameters of the existing antenna array, it is replaced to suit.

The translator I am most interested in before the Digital changeover had 2 lattice work towers and from memory on the ACMA site, one was called 'North' and the other 'South'.
One carried the ABC and SBS and the other the 3 commercial channels however since the area went digital, one tower has been removed which led me to believe all services now share the one facility and based on what information MTV has supplied, if any panels needed replacing to suit the 'restacking' which was planned some time ago, it would have most likely been done then.
Because my terrestrial reception is 'fortuitous' as they say, I dont want to see any adjustments to the already very directional beam that might lose my signal.

If the existing channels were in a different band to what they will be post-restack, they would have installed a wideband antenna system.

Give me your site name Gordon and I check to see if the transmit antenna will be replaced.

Portland/Wallerawang, NSW, dont confuse this Portland with the one in Victoria as I saw the ABC do once regarding their FM radio coverage.

The restack is scheduled for October 23rd.

My information is that the transmit antenna will be replaced on that site.

Let's hope they are set the same as the current ones as they are directional and I am behind them in the shadow area.

From the document I can access, I can see that there seems to be a panel facing due North and another due East. Not sure of the existing config but that's all I've got at the moment...
