No, not when I bought my cable etc.
Tandy was a trading name of Radio Shack/Realistic Group for certain items.
When the Realistic/Tandy group' went under' a few years ago, some stores continued trading under that name and others either closed or became Dick Smith Outlets, dont forget that Dick Smiths itself is owned by Woolworths.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Why I have I been entered into a game I didn't sign up for, I'm taking this to court.
No really I give up, what is the answer.
For runs under 10 metres, I defy anyone to inject a signal at one end and measure it at the other and other than the 'normal' loss by resistance to see any appreciable difference no matter what brand, colour, quad or single core it is.
But what does make the difference is the quality of the materials used and how resistive it is to sun and weather exposure over the long term.
All metals including copper will degrade as will the outside sheathing over time so you hope that the quality of the cable matches the cost.

Well I wouldn't of guessed that in a million years, anyway about it degrading, I won't be using the cable for very long I don't think I just want to test if the satellite works, I will only use it permanently if I get a channel that is interesting.
If you got nothing to do on saturday about 10-11 o'clock I could pop over and see if we can get it going. The suspense is killing all of us.Lol.pM me your details if you are interested.
I will have to get the cable first, or would you bring one?
Also I would have to meet you in person first in a public place because since I don't know you, No offence.

I'm also a member of the Free to air satellite forums. You can check me out there.I do have cables and everything else. Up to you.
No thanks I think I'll pass. I will get the cable from Jaycar on the weekend and then try to get it working using the setting that were posted earlier on in the thread and then I will take photos of the applied settings and see if it works, then I will post the results.
Ok, good luck.
MTV and the others who have been in the Trade for years will have many stories regarding both cable and tape (300 ohm) that has literally disintegrated from UV or exposure to atmospheric narsties like smoke from chimneys.
For a very brief period back in the 60's, there was a white 300 ohm tape sold and as it tended to blend into its surroundings both inside and out it was very popular but within a very short period it had to be replaced as it wasnt UV resistant and the plastic just broke off.
Brown was better but it too depended on the quality and was generally used only inside out of the weather and the Sun.
Today the majority of cables are black because it has proved to be the best colour for exposed use and if its of good quality, installed correctly it should give you many years of trouble free service.
When you buy what cable you want, I would advise you that if your using crimp type 'F' connectors, check they match the cable diameter too.

I have bought the cable and attached it to the wall (see photo). Then I attached to the back of the receiver (see photo). Then I did a blind scan with the following satellite settings (see photo). I did not set up anything on the second screen and when I did the scan, the scan returned negative. What settings should I try next.
Thank you in advance
Assuming your user name is the same as that on numerous forums, you seem to go around in circles asking questions on a huge range of subjects without success.
I'd suggest you get someone who knows what they are doing to check it out.
The rust on the outlet plate is a concern.
You would have been wise to have accepted gulliver's offer.
