    Default 3G WCDMA 900MHz phone

Hey all. I am after a phone that can be used on Optus' 900MHz 3G service, that isn't a Nokia 6121c locked to vodafone. If anyone knows of one, or has read of one such mobile, please post in this thread. The only 3G available here is Optus' 900MHz WCDMA service, unless I walk up the road, and I might get NextG. Or should I put up with the GSM service, and wait for 2100 MHz? Much appreciated.

EDIT : What would it cost to unlock a nokia 6121c anyway?

    Cheers, Mick.

Have you checked the Optus website ? Have a look and see what they are selling , it should give you a few makes and models that you can Google for tech specs.

I have checked with Optus, and for me, a plan is out, and there are only two prepaid 3G phones listes, both samsungs, none 900 MHz UMTS capable.

Mango, it seems to be UMTS 850, not UMTS 900, according to SE.

    Any ideas, please?

In theory all GSM phones that are 3G 2100Mhz should be able to be software patched to be 3G capable in the 900Mhz band. But of course no phone maker will do that as that would slow down sales of there new phones.

    Adobe.
