Default UEC DSD 700 for Aurora

    Hi all .

I'm pretty new here, and I have a keen interest in the older satellite stuff from Australia at the turn of the century (1999/2000).

The UEC DSD 700 is a box that has fascinated me, partly because I can find no information on it .

Is there anyone who owned such a decoder? I'd love to find out more about it.

    Hi again everyone

One of the things I'd like to know is what exactly is/was a "PULSE PIN-code"? I saw that on the menu of the DSD 700 there was an option to change that - "Change PULSE PIN-code".

Also, can anyone remember if it had red or green digits on the front panel, and if it was a 4 or a 3 digit display?

Does someone maybe have a photo of this box? I'd really like to find out more about the DSD 700. Did nobody own one? I heard they were somewhat rare because of power supply issues.

There appears to be a DSD700 User Manual available for download at .

I have downloaded it and it appears to be the real thing.

They were pretty unpopular with users. UEC produced some pretty average receivers for Australia.

I may still have one kicking around, I will have a look later.

Thanks. I have found another one too, and this appears tailored to Aurora itself. The graphics are a bit shoddy though and I don't know if the real manual would actually have such poor quality pics in it. Anyway, here it is:

There's even a Foxtel one too for the STU 700 and STU 720.

Very old box, Used 2mb Flash program Memory, It Has Nec Chipset, Emma Architecture... Was very good box in its time. Very fast in terms of processing. it has a 24C128 EEPROM, If you modify the Code, you can permanently remove the E17 marriage. HEx edit lines 3180 to 3200 and change to all "FF" bytes and your box is unmarried. in SA it was same as DSD 720i / 722.
I am trying to find a generic bin file for NEC Emma architecture to make it work in these now doorstops. perhaps with a small mod we can use as free to air doorstop.
