Default Bulk Buy Interest - M8 Android Receiver

Due to the large amount of interest in this giveaway item, we have created this thread to try and see whether there is enough interest in doing a bulkbuy for members.

What is a bulk buy ? Austech, although not lately, has run some huge bulkbuys in the past. We create an interest thread like this , interested members post their interest and at the end we count how many are interested and look for a supplier to give us X amount at a wholesale price. Members pay in advance.

Below is a cut and paste from the giveaway thread that gives some info about the receiver and what it does :

So what is a M8 and what can it do for me ?

Its an internet TV receiver. If you are familiar with the Android operating system that is on phones and tablets, thats what this little box runs on. Android 4.4 "KitKat". It has some pretty decent specs for a TV receiver :

CPU : ARM Cortex - A9 Quad Core
GPU : Mali 450 Octo Core
    RAM : 2GB DDR3
    Flash Memory : 8GB

These decent specifications help the box to play video and audio seamlessly. But there is one thing that makes these receivers very popular......its ability for addons.

The most popular addon you can have on the M8 is called Kodi. It was formerly known as XBMC, or XBox Media Centre developed many years ago to play media on the XBOX. Times have changed, and it now allows you to watch almost ANYTHING, new or old, as long as you are connected to the internet. Once Kodi/XBMC is installed, it has downloadable addons.

Sound difficult ? Its not really, but I am sure if your new to it you dont want to muck around so we we will be sending it to you already setup so its simply "plug and play". Lets have a look at some of the goodies on it.

If you like watching TV series, you will love this. Almost any series you can think of and no need to chase latest episodes, they will appear as soon as they are available.

Movies...old, new, new release...you will find them all.

This is just one addon. We have added all the ones that really matter , there are heaps, it also includes Live Streaming !. And if you do get stuck for any reason, head in to Austech's Internet TV forum where these types of applications are discussed. You will cancel Foxtel after you have used this.
These are internet streaming receivers, so obviously you need an internet connection with a reasonable amount of download allowance. As an example, I have 2 at home that get a pretty decent workout and we use 200-300 gb a month.
There are a number of decent ADSL2 deals out there these days, as an example are currently offering 500bg for $39.99.

Ok, if you are interested please state so. Its impossible to work with exact numbers, but we need to bet a roughly accurate figure. If you just have a question, please state so so that we dont confuse the 2.
As some people wont have any idea as to the value of these items, think around the $120 mark I am not saying this is how much they will be, this is just a price guide of what you could reasonably expect to pay for one if you went out to purchase one.

    Thanks
    Admin

I recently looked at some more units.

They have an updated remote control now, 600Mhz GPU instead of 400Mhz.
Geekbuying has them for $89 USD with Free Shipping (walk off the street volume of 1), if that helps any?
So i'm happy to help out if the a Group Buy could do better than retail.

Thanks Admin, that's probably the best feature of the WDTV allowing you to set the DNS at the device rather than doing it at the router..... cheers
