Electrical Interference
Hey all,
We have a Strong SRT 4922a decoder box configured to asiasat 7. Everytime someone turns the microwave, light switch, kettle on it causes the decoder to lose signal momentarily. To fix the issue we go down a channel and back to original channel.
How could I rectify this issue any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard Sharma

If it's not discriminatory and plays up when any local load is switched, I can only think the receiver's power supply is hyper-sensitive to line fluctuations.
Maybe try a good quality line-filter power-board. Not one of those cheap 'surge-arrestor' ones. A real line-filter.

Now worries I will give that a try. Thanks.
Ferrite core clamp-on suppressors on power cables and antenna cables can also reduce impulse noise interference.
Check the signal strength and in particular, signal quality.
If you do not have high signal quality, you may need to improve it with dish/LNB fine tuning, as the noise spikes may be higher than the signal.
