Default getting a tg799vac media server to work on hdd

got a new technicolour tg799vac or telstra gateway max couple of days ago and now got a 4t hdd attached to it, have copied videos to a folder on the hdd and can see files over the wifi... but media server on the telly "see's" the media server but no files in the video folder???

have tried to "add" the files via the library arrow and "add to library" and it does "see" the files but doesn't add them

Had this worked before, with your previous router?
Does it give you any error messages, when you try and add the files?
I'm thinking the files you are trying to view are in a format not supported by the media player.
