Have the new range of cameras been tested under high heat conditions?
My last camera buggered up from heat exhaustion, especially up here in QLD it gets pretty hot on the dash.

The SGZC12SG is good for 90c, don't think you'll find anything else comparable

This one is a little different, it's the white box version of our product, same camera just without the retail accessories, no memory card, card reader etc that ours comes with

there are rules about GPS, these don't come under the same category and the ideal location is behind the mirror where they can't be seen by the driver anyway

In that case using Eastlink and Citylink would be illegal due to etags, so I would say no

Im pretty sure its just nothing over the coverage of the wiper blades as its your field of vision, but i could be wrong.

In NSW we had a law that a crack ANYWHERE in a windscreen meant it had to be changed but that was later amended to be that so long as it wasnt impeding the Drivers vision it was no problem but I did think Victoria was at least proposing that nothing be stuck on the window but as you all point out, where do you put the Rear View mirror and those E-Tags along with your Rego sticker for those still using them???

Another bureaucratic smart idea that didnt stand up too well to scrutiny in the bright light of day !!!

In relation to the heat of Summer on the GPS devises, no matter where I park (except at home) I always put one of those foil steering wheel covers over both GPS to keep the heat off and to make it more difficult to see them in the car.
I put a full width but folded screen over the dash on the Passenger's side too even though there is definitely nothing there.
I rely on the principle that what they cant see means they may to waste time to try to break into the car with the possibility there is nothing under the cover to steal.

have a look at any taxi driver's dash - I'm pretty sure they can't see over it most of the time - there are so many things poking out all over the place!

You don't have to look any furthere than the nearest cop car to see stuff that might distract the driver! Heck they all have a bloody touch screen computer mounted on their dash!

A couple of other things which might come in handy for those with the SG9665GPS (we have this links on the support page of our site but in case you missed it)

A more recent version of the user manual there is a newer one to come still, another week or so maybe for that, these get updated as the firmware gets updated

    The playback software, Windows Mac

Config settings for the playback software to suit this model

How to export a section of video
