Donno about that, I've had my script running for the past 2 weeks, Unblock at 4:00am and block again at 4:05am, haven't had to manually update the card at all.

    Just a bit off topic....

I do it a bit different to all that...I cheat a bit.

Get a wireless splitter, one paddle to the dream, the other to a Humax.

Plug the Humax into a Kambrook type mains timer, and set it to go on at 4am then off at 5 am.

    Never fails......

Is there a problem if the Humax is on all the time?? I thought those that had a Humax had them in the loop all the time.
Don't worry, it only seems kinky the first time.

2 minutes will get pic's back up, have tried it many times when pics are lost I take the B: line out from cccam.cfg and have timed track each time I've done this with pics back on in 1 minute : 30 seconds.

Just to be on the save side in Crontab I've scheduled it for 3:00am till 3:05am & 14:05 till 14:07 ( only 2 minutes). Server has been running for 2 months with no manual update required nor pics lost.

I have been doing the same thing around the same times in cron for ages and it seems to work fine although there has been times when it has stopped because i have been messing around alot recently, I have done a manual update and it works within a couple mins.

I can see a day when it will take longer than 2-3 mins to get an update though or if power goes off etc and that's why I have been investigating another script to try to detect when pics are gone and act on it with little success so far as the G2 still responds normally when pics disapear

Don't think it has a fancy interface. Access it from ssh.

    Code:
    crontab
By reading this, you have already given me control over a tiny slice of your mind

That would be cool! Just a thought from a not very technical observer.. might it be possible to detect if pics are being decoded by monitoring something other than the card, like say.. the IPTV stream?

    Problem, Problem......
I have the script running on my linux server and my dm500s updating using cccam 2.09.
The script was running from 3:05 to 5:05 and my box was set to switch over to an irdeto channel from 2:50. every morning when i woke up the dm500 would show a frozen picture which was the irdeto channel but nds would be fine, i would have to reboot the server not restart cccam as this wouldnt start the irdeto card. once rebooted all was fine showing that card was updated. We reduced the time from 2 hours to 1 hour, still the same.

would anyone know why the card would freeze, could it be that the timing is too long.

    thanks

the script method doesn't seem to be as reliable as it was. Prob due to 'counter measures' in the stream.

What are others experiences at the moment?

I've found that updates are happening spot on 8am WA time.
So I've set the #B script to run at 0755, then, the B script at 0805. Seems to be working ok atm.

    Default Open Box

    Hi Z80

I have been using a open box with a session interface in to graywolf. As long as i leave the open box on i have no problems. When if i turn the open off for even a few hours the pic seems to stop.

I have read some where that you can use the serial port to share from a newcs or newcamd server to a open using teh serial port on the back. Any one had any luck doing this? (it would be cleaner then a session interface out the front of the box.)

    Question sh scripts

Guys or should i say script gurus

Does anyone know how to stop & restart CCcam.x86 using a .sh script on a linux server?

I am using two scripts at the moment CCcamAU.sh (copies CCcam.cfg with no B: line) & CCcamNOAU.sh (copies CCcam.cfg with B: line) and what I have found is as long as CCcam.x86 is running copying a new CCcam.cfg doesn't take effect unless I kill CCcamx86 and restart it.

So what I think would work in this case is a script that would stop the CCcam program, copy CCcam.cfg then restart CCcam program.

Please note this setup is for a linux card sharing server running CCcam not for the dreambox running CCcam as a server.

    Hope I haven't confused anyone.
