I don`t know how my post ended up here....
Perhaps Admin would be kind enough to move it to Sateliite Television where it belongs?

I have researched and researched and researched whether or not it is possible to receive domestic Japanese television channels via satelitte from Australia, but have only suceeded in getting more and more confused?!
So is it actually possible to install a satellite dish, a receiver/decoder and be able to watch domestic Japanese channels from Australia?
Specifically, the channels listed here:
I beg your knowledge and assistance in helping me make this a reality.....if indeed it is possible at all?
Sincerest of thanks

Firstly, you've posted in the Terrestrial TV Section, so I'll move to Satellite.
The short answer is no, as the satellite beams are predominately directed to Japan.
You have more chance via IPTV with a compatible receiver and subscription if required.
Thanks very much for the swift response mtv.
And sorry for causing you hassle
You can get NHK and NHK Premium but those are not really what you are after
There were some reports of signals on a 6 meter dish in South Australia from KU band Japanese satellites a few year back from satellite at 124E and 128E
Your easiest option is to use this software for iptv based viewing.
I'm sure if you google search there will also be paid iptv services as well
I attempted to do the same as you Yebisu but the best I can get on the satellite side is NHK Premium de-scrambled for the occasional show like the news on Intelsat 19 C band.
I'm looking into the iptv side of things as an alternative.
2.3 M Phoenix C-Band dish, Star C-Band LNBF, 24" Actuator, Phoenix V-box, Strong 4930L decoder & ex-foxtel KU-Band dish, Sharp twin LNBF
Japanese copyrights law makes it illegal to stream Japanese content from within Japan to overseas countries for a commercial fee a violation of their copyrights law. Setting up a personal slingbox
at say a relatives house for personal use is fine. That way you can get Hikari or Sky Perfect or other digital providers.
Best receiver I have used is the Humax CS HD300
It has both the Sky Perfect and the BCAS card slots so can get both services on the same STB. The Humax also has better venting than the Sony & Panasonic stb's.
IF EVOLUTION WORKS, WHY SO MANY IDIOTS?
