    Default Xbox 1 keeps rebooting

I have an unmodded xbox that keeps rebooting I'd like to try and fix. It gets to the X with the word microsoft under it and then reboots and repeats this over and over. Games wont boot, I have the eeprom and built a new Hdd with new C and E drive files which didn't work either.
Is there anything else I can try?

either a m/b or dash problem
disconnect hdd and see if it boots with error
if it boots install chip and redo drive

sounds like a memory chip failure mate.

Tried booting without hdd and got error code 7. Also noticed the c7g9 capacitor was leaking, so I replaced it but that didn't help. The transistors around it look allright. Is it worth trying to replace the memory chip? If so where do you get them?

the capacity you speak of, is that the 1F one, located front left of mobo? Pretty common if so.

I've got some xbox memory chips, BUT, you will need experience with your soldering iron to swap successfully.

i would try a chip in it first
then use a boot disk to format and reinstall dash

have to agree with you on this Mick, much easier to try a chip first as memory swap can be difficult.
