Default dvb s2 satellite receiver recommendations

I'm after recommendations on a good inexpensive FTA DVB S2 satellite receiver to replace an old humax receiver. Any recommendations appreciated.

Just don't want to get one with the buggy chipset and audio problems like has cropped up recently on many receivers. Such as the Healing HHS242 receiver I already have.

Would the Strong SRT 4950H be the one to look for? I did notice it does not have an ethernet port but does come with a wireless adapter. Not sure what the speed is though. Would prefer a STB with ethernet port. Good software support and updates is desirable to have as well.

Strong SRT 4922A - got three of them - work like a dream - never used the Ethernet, though.

    Greg,

The link I provided to Access Antennas was for the purpose of giving you some idea of the current price point of the unit, and was not a recommendation to necessarily buy from that company.

Having said that – a couple of years ago, whilst caravanning through W.A. I was asked by a fellow caravanner if I could help him purchase and install VAST. I took him down to Access Antennas (having found them in the Yellow Pages) and he bought a complete system, which I then set up for him back at the ‘van.

The staff at Access Antennas were knowledgeable and helpful, and the system worked first up.

Fast forward a couple of years – now settled down, and over the last 12-18 months I have purchased three SRT4922A’s from Access Antennas over the phone (based primarily on best price).

All three transactions were pain-free, all three units arrived promptly and safely – and all three units were brand new, worked perfectly, and continue to do so to this day.

Given this experience, I can’t say that I have a problem with the service or products from this WA company.
