    Default Bein Sports on Asiasat5

In the last few weeks Bein Sports on Asiasat 5 100.5 deg E freq 3700V, S/R 30000, Fec 3/4 8PSK has disappeared (No Signal) dead as a door nail from all my boxes so I expect that since Lyngsat says its still there and Apsattv has not reported it missing I expect they have reduced power and my 2.3 can't pick it up or maybe our beam has been shut off. Can someone with a dish on Asiasat 5 check this for me.

    Disregard the above post.
Mind you bein sports was dead with all my boxes for over two weeks so I decided to post about this problem this morning and after posting I decided to turn one box on and check as this time EBS blind scan said it was there and we have Signal so I decided to check other boxes and others were the same. Gruuuuu!!!

The story of my life. Truck knows what the problem was as every other transponder was working signal wise except for bein sports.

Outages happen from time to time. Sometimes they are long and on other occasions they are of short duration.

They can be caused for a multitude of reasons but often due to bad weather.

I remember that some years ago, RAI (Italy) disappeared for a few days, much to the dismay of many. The problem turned out to be due to extremely bad (winter) weather at the uplink site in Europe. Pleasant, sunny, mild conditions here, so the local Italian community couldn't understand why their favorite television channel had disappeared.

Yes. Snow, heavy rain, thunderstorms (even in the distance but that block the signal), even tree branches in front of your dish in the direction of the satellite.

Well beinsports on AS5 is Cband, and it never had any problems with uplink. So it was an issue for the OP only. Cannot have been weather related.

As for trees, I built myself a little platform above the tree line and everything else.
