Try blocking google public dns servers in your router.
sent from my galaxy s5 on tapatalk
I have just set up my home network with unblock us dns's and subscribed to netflix.
I can watch netflix movies on my MAC with no issue, Using google chrome browser.
I use this because I have a Chromecast.
I selected to cast to my chromecast and started to view the movie on the TV. all good.
Next movie I tried the banner on the TV came up "Netflix is not yet available in this region".
Yet it was still playing on the laptop.
Any ideas???
Thanks
Porkop

what if my router is an Optus Cisco DPQ 3925-X which doesn't have the option of blocking the google public dns.
is there anything I can do?
Google's DNS is hard coded into Chromecast. Your best option is to give the Chromecast the flick & go for something like an AppleTV.

gonna be hard, the kids are so use to the chromecast now. got 5 chromecasts at home.
here's the solution from the unblock-us site:
1,-Navigate to the DD-WRT website, download and install the firmware for you router. All the information to do this is on their website.
2,-Open router settings and set the Network Address Server Setings (DHCP) to the Unblockus DNS servers.(208.122.23.22, 208.122.23.23)
3,-Click on the administration tab and then the commands tab. Cut and paste the following commands into the window. Be sure to hit the save startup and save firewall buttons.
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 8.8.8.8 -j DNAT --to-destination 208.122.23.22
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 8.8.4.4 -j DNAT --to-destination 208.122.23.23
problem is my optus Cisco DPQ3925-X doesn't support DD-WRT.
Here is a link to Unotelly's solution. It involves setting up static routes for each of the dns servers concerned. It has two links for Cisco's, but with both warns that some routers have a bug which prevents this solution working, It may be worth thinking about getting a router which does support this feature. Good luck.
