i have re-set up my old system from having a failed decoder box from years ago.
replace the box, all is working, can get signals / channels etc
strong 4653x
large motored dish 2~3 meter
diseQ 4 way
dual LNB
the Question: i randomly motored to a nice strong signal, and blind scanned ( got 30 or so channels, mix of FTA and pay) got vid up ok.
**SO.. how can i tell what sat i am pointed at? is it a case of simply looking at the video/radio being displayed and looking for the package on lyngsat. (I tried that but sometime it lists them on many sats)
once i figure out this sat (as a start point) i then can work my way left and right blind scanning as i go.
If there is a thread on this, please point me in the correct direction.
Thanks

I thought this was going to be the case, just thinking there may have been a more simple/accurate way to do this via transponder numbers and or frequency's.
but as the same set of TP`s and lnb frequency are shared across several sats, it may not work this way.
Will have to do it the good old fashioned way look at the pics and compare on lyngsat.
Thank you for the feed back...
That correct. You will see the same freq used on numerous sats. Just compare the programming to what's on the listed sats. And if you know roughly the direction the dish is pointing it narrows it down a little more.
