Need to know more information. Distance from exchange, attenuation etc before a recommendation can really be made.

I posted a thread about the over in the "Networking - Wireless and Cabled" section.
Maybe you would also get more answers over there.

Although at 4.4mb.. i'm tempted to say a 3 year old smartphone, at least you'll get 20mb download then.
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

I would be getting a modem with a Broadcom chipset.

    For example: Billion 7800NXL
    Or Billion 7800VDOX for VoIP.

The Billion modems do seem to have a good reputation.
When I was a kid, I used to have an imaginary friend. I thought he went everywhere with me. I could talk to him and he could hear me, and he could grant me wishes and stuff too. But then I grew up, and stopped going to church.

I have used Billion Modems/Routers both for work and home, and have no hesitation recommending them. I have also used similar TP-Link products, which are much cheaper and surprisingly good for the price.

Yep, thats the general consensus for long distances for stability.

I bought a TP Link Archer D7, great bang for buck

A lot of people are recommending Asus these days as well
