. The anniversary update of W10 looks to be more crap that we don't use, want, or need. Of course, you can't avoid it and some of the changes may not to be your taste. Too bad, too sad. One thing that is interesting though is the inclusion of Linux command line tools. I'm wondering if this is going to "death by a thousand cuts" to Windoze and we'll all eventually, like it or not, be forced to migrate to Linux.

France has issued Microsoft with a formal warning! After accusations that Windows 10 collects too much data about users, France's National Data Protection Commission (CNIL) has order Microsoft to comply with the French Data Protection Act within three months. The company has been ordered to "stop collecting excessive data and tracking browsing by users without their consent".

Microsoft has three months to come up with proposals for changes to its software that will satisfy the CNIL – although no one at Redmond is going to be too worried. The French bureaucrats move slowly and failure to comply will merely trigger the possibility of an internal investigator being hired to dig deeper into the operating system. The CNIL ultimately has the power to fine organizations if laws are broken, though.

Just a note to tell you of my recent Win 10 experience. The left click function of my mouse ceased to function, this may sound trivial but you lose access to apps and home page, etc, googled problem and it turns out to be a common problem. Solution, go in via task manager and enter script, after entering different script still no cure, change account settings, no help as i run MYOB and could not enter it. Solution, full re install, one day lost

I honestly dont know what the problem is.....

I updated my asus laptop from W7 a few months ago, no problems. I use it for general browsing/torrents etc via a vpn and programming radios/ecu's etc.. everything worked fine and still does. i have disabled all the 'phone home' stuff though.

A couple of months ago I updated the office server from w8.1, again no problems. this is logged into remotely by my office manager via logmein and runs myob/office etc. again no issues.

I run myob premier 19 and have no issues.

last week i updated my office pc, myob file on server via lan/office/ general browsing etc. Again not a single issue upgrading. I havent bothered disabling microsofts 'spyware' on the 2 office computers as I have nothing to hide on them....

    Go into Windows Updates
    Click on 'Installed Updates'
Search for KB3035583 and select - click 'Uninstall'
Reboot PC, then check for updates
After windows finds available updates, select KB3035583 and click 'Hide'.

yep, Ho Hum is right on; just had the Anniversary Update arrive on my Laptop 2 days ago. Windows 10 Version 1607

startup from shutdown (read hybrid shutdown/hibernate) is twice as long as it was before.

Can't find anything in startup to remove that may be impacting startup time.

Maybe it will speed up again after it works out where all the new stuff is hiding?? lol

I was enjoying W10 up until know. The cosmetic changes of the new build are not awe inspiring & the new features that have also just been included are - SO!!

To top it off it used ~4Gb of my data capacity for the 64bit update which has put me over my monthly data limit & now it's trying to do the same to my PC but failing because of the my now slow Internet speed as I'm over my limit & being shaped back to 512kb/s. This is 2 months in a row W10 updates has put me over my limit
I thought that since I have 'Get/Share updates from/with other computers on my network' ticked that it would share the downloaded update data files? Guess having one with 64bit Home & the other with 64bit Pro, they don't actually share much of the update or that feature is bullshit.

    Rant over.
    Cheers, Tiny

I haven't experienced any issues other than my wireless getting locked out occasionally on W10....have it on 2 Asus laptops, and a third has an 8.1 reversal on it....just for the hell of it. So I can re update it at any time.

The updates do tend to stuff around with your settings. e.g. my file server is set to never shut down, but after the last update it suddenly decides that it's time for a nap and I had to wake it up again. CHeck settings, and, yep, "suspend" is turned on again.

It also unhides any updates you had previously hidden with the wushowhide.diagcab tool.
It just tried to install a printer driver update that I had hidden 6 months ago due to it constantly failing to install as it wasn't the correct driver anyway!!.

Now I'll have to see what other settings it changed. Privacy, data sharing, driver update settings, etc.
Bugger what a waste of time.

Microsoft have announced a change to their update policy. They are supposedly going to be ! Maybe they have given up using a shotgun to kill a fly and have decided that flyswatter is just as good at bringing your system to it's knees.

must admit, the last win 10 i have been installing is great, its updated to august so it misses the drawn out 1803 update & others, it only needs about 4 minor updates after install

i was using a legit win 10 with a activator but the updates took forever
