In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.
Received email today with the upgrade update which included the FAQ page
It might answer some questions people have.
the sunday night d/load looks like rtm as the preview and number tag from the bottom right of screen is no longer there
Nothing happened here I can see and my Get WIN10 logo is still on the task bar but my 'Update' isnt scheduled until 29 July so maybe they are 'spreading' the down load over a few weeks?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
are you set to fast or slow update
My Asus running insider preview hasn't updated yet....

I clicked on the logo this morning and it now says that this is a 3GB in the background download........................3 GB is a fair munch on a 15GB per month plan..........

15g is a drop in the ocean when d/l windows
Despite having legit, paid for versions of Win7 on my desktop and Win8.1 on my laptop, I have not been offered an invitation.
For most of my life, I lived a delusion
So I installed today on both my Windows 8.1 Core laptop and my wife's Windows 7 SP1 Pro laptop the Windows 10 Free Upgrade. It took about 1.5 hours ( 20% Pre-Installation, 25% Copying files, 25% Installing features & drivers, 25% Configuring settings, 5% Post-Installation) per machine. The necessary files already were downloaded automatically in the background.
After upgrading no problems encountered so far, all works properly. Even HOSTS file was left untouched!
It seems Window 10 boots faster: Under Windows 8.1.1 boot time was always ~63 secs, now it decreased to ~55 secs.
