Mine is at the "Preparing for Upgrade" stage, so if I disappear, you know it did not work!
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Just one thing that has occurred to me. Should I need to re-install windoze down the road after the upgrade, will I have to re-install W7 first and go through the process all over again? What happens if the twelve month free has expired? Is there an ISO that I can burn?
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I click on the icon and just get something about 'Validating my PC for Windows 10'
I wish they'd hurry up, I wanted to try it yesterday.

I just updated my graphics driver then clicked on the GW10 icon & got a notice to wait until notified "We're rolling out the free upgrade in waves,".

    Same here
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.

I'm still here. Looks to be bit smoother than W7. I'll give it a few more days before upgrading my media server.

Download the ISOs they are freely available, contrary to others opinions, do the upgrade confirm activation, then rollback to previous version, wipe your HDD if you then want to do a clean install, and install either 32bit or 64bit W10. Of course, don't forget to download the right version of W10

As always: Has NOTHING to do with the "Windows 10 Free Upgrade" which users can run via the GWX icon in the notification area of a Windows 7 & 8.1 PC. Rather the links you provided relate to "Retail versions / editions of Windows 10" which requires to have a valid Windows 10 product key present that you have to enter during installation process of any "Retail versions / editions of Windows 10". At least this was so as my neighbor for curiosity's sake yesterday created the Windows 10 USB-stick by means of Microsoft's MediaCreationTool and installed the appropriate "Retail versions / editions of Windows 10" on his genuine Window 7 OEM-version desktop PC. "Windows 10 Free Upgrade" for Windows 7 & 8.1 computers which you install via the GWX icon doesn't require to enter a valid "Windows 10" product key. Because my neighbor had not a valid Windows 10 product key present, he aborted the installation process immediately to not hurt anything.

When also you the significant difference between "Windows 10 Free Upgrade" and "Windows 10" will note?

    Not happy.

Had a 2 monitor system with 1440x900 res on each monitor and extended desktop in win 8.1 but after upgrade, only one monitor and 1024x768.

Now the long wait for the bug fixes and driver upgrades.

    What graphics card you got?
Nvidea Geforce already got update for W8.1 & below for compatibility with W10, would expect you could check for driver updates now you have W10.

Yes my neighbor, who as reported wanted to upgrade OEM Window 7 Pro to retail Windows 10 Pro, had entered the product key for "Windows 10 Pro" as shown above: was NOT accepted.

    Did not surprise me.

Firstly I never saw that notice thanking me for reserving WIN10 and now it appears its downloading it 'in the background' without notification !!
I only found out it was downloading when I clicked on the Logo in the task bar for it to tell me it had downloaded some 2000 MB (41%) its now at 2706.1 MB or 63%.

The % downloaded is rising, now at 67% but the actual amount is still at 2706.1 MB.
I bought some more Internet time this afternoon (5GB) so this should see 3 GB of it eaten up...............cheeez.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
