Default Conia High Def STB - any good?

    Hi guys

Although it's Conia, this seems like a good price for a HD STB with HDMI. Can't see the model number to google it, so anyone got one or have any experience with these receivers?

Just put my 2yr old conia dishwasher out for the verge collection, it made a very high definition bang on Tuesday night. But as Oceanboy says, for $80 its probably worth ago.
Picked up a Tivo on Wednesday (with a new dishwasher), that has to be the easiest appliance I have set up in ages - easier than the bloody dishwasher. My mum could get that running. I'll find out if it's worth the price tag soon I guess. Thats the other end of the spectrum from a Conia stb, wonder which one will last the longest!

its $94 with the HDMI cable plus postage (which varies on state) so say $104 in total.... I would get one but, games start tomorrow, so what allow 5-10 working days for delivery, i'd totally miss out ... wonder where else these can be sourced as I will buy one stuff it price is right...

I know K-mart used to stock that brand, so you could dash out and try all the Kmart, Big W, etc etc type stores... I'm sure you will find something.
Perhaps even Aldi have something again???

A lot of people think with HD STB's i'll buy one cheap and see what it's like before i commet, truth is, it is the sensetivity of the digital tuner, the onboard BER correction and other such corrective circuitry that makes ALL the difference. Let alone quality of componentry.

The new HD receivers that come in Sony LCD TVs are some of the best i have seen. But the el cheapo units still pixalate, pop and chirp the audio, and if you have it connected to a good Amp/Receiver and 7 speakers, that is a a pretty big and ear smashing chrip!!!

As always, you get what you pay for
