    Default Help with Mio Map

I have this MIO GPS (4x3) which is loaded with maps from 2 years ago. I have another Chinese brand which I'm running MIO 3.3 maps that is dated Aug 07. I have been trying to get the latest map onto the Mio but it won't load. Can anyone link me to a map that will run on the Mio?
    Thanks.
This is what is on the SD Card.

Who here has called themselves an expert? I think most are here to learn and offer help where they can. If peeps can't offer any advice, I don't see the reason to get upset!

with an attitude like that, i suspect not much help will be forthcoming.....

if you want some help, just upload the card without the map.....

also try downloading the igo8 software which has been posted on this forum and see how you go....

I wasn't getting much help anyway. I have had 9 people download the file but none has commented so far. A simple "Dunno" is some feedback after taking the trouble to download. This is a difficult problem to solve, and I don't expect many people would know the answer. I just thought that a GPS forum would at least have someone reading it that knew what the problem was. Apparently not.

alligator, if you read the gps forum you will realise that igo uses the same map as miomap.

a working version of igo8 with latest map and text to speech has been posted.

you could try and load that onto your device, instead of waiting for handouts.....

if you just want to load the latest igo australian map onto your current device, you will need a keygen....

HOE, Thank you for your reply. I am aware of IGO 8 but prefer the interface of Mio. If you check my first post you will see that I'm looking at trying to load fresh maps to replace the old versions. I realize that this my not be possible, that is why I need someone who can check out the maps on the SD card and suggest what to to. I am NOT looking for a hand out, I am looking for expert opinion. There are people around who would know the answer, I'm trying to find them. I also have Igo on my GPS but I don't like the layout of the Dashboard.

I tried putting a newer version Miomap on my SD card a while back without success. I actually stuffed my SD card in doing so.
It seems Mio locks their units so you can't just put newer maps on yourself.
I found a few tuts on how to unlock some Mio units 520 and a few others but not for my Mio Digiwalker 136.
So my GPS works fine when I insert my brothers SD card but with mine it says 'Hardware ID changed'
From memory it had something to do with the db file. I guess it's like a marriage protection thing.
Mio sells new maps on SD for about $120 but that's a ripoff.
Still hoping to find a solution one day.
