Low Noise Universal LNBs

Hello Guys,

I have noticed that there is a plethora of Ku LNBs out in the market that are advertising them selves as 0.2 db noise figure . They are :
Technomate 0.2 dB Single LNB
Inverto 0.2db Single Digital LNB
MTI High Line 0.2db Single Digital LNB
Titanium 0.2 dB LNB
Lemon 0.2db Single Digital LNB

Just wandering if anyone has tried these , and what real life performance is like .

MTI are ok but I wouldn't touch the lemon

I use ST Gold and/or Fuji universals but they are .3 and .4 respectively.

The fuji's are very good. But what it says on the sticker means shit.

I alos use Norsat LNB's but they are pretty expensive. Good for commercial jobs where signal fade is not in the duty statement.

used an ... Inverto universal 0.2db lnb ... for 12 months in varied wether conditions (rain / snow and 40 deg C temps) - signal 100% always

The selection of your LNBF must be done by the scientific method - the only meaningful test - and that is to buy one of each LNBF type and test them carefully with several different transponder frequencies to see the variable performance across the entire passband, on both bands and on both Horizontal and Vertical polarisations....using a satellite with stable signals, preferably OPTUS C1. This task will take a while, especially if you do it the only fair and reasonable way which is to take, say, ten of each LNBF type and calculate an average result. You won't have much time for TV watching, and it's possible you may encounter the changeover of some transponders to the new satellite which is to share the orbital slot of 156 degrees East Longitude taken presently by C1. In this case your results will definitely be ruined and you must begin the process anew. Bear in mind that these tests must be performed under stringently measured and carefully noted temperature extremes, that is to say, at both the hottest days of summer and the coldest days of winter. It is obvious that for a truly meaningful test you will have to perform said tests over a period of perhaps one "solar cycle" of 11 years, as this seems to be the period over which measured extremes have been noted since controlled temperature observations have been recorded in this wonderful country of Australia. Your user details omit an exact location, and it is only assumed that you are located in Australia. If you are not in Australia an entirely different testing regime will be required, and this regimen can be provided to you, by me, for a reasonable sum of money in recompense for my skilled and accurate provision of same.
