Many counterfeits floating around on ebay , I would only buy in a store,
Every store has different price margins and outgoings
I'm used to things being a few dollars different, but $56 different for a $20 item?!? What The?
Do you guys think one is better than the other?
Or have a preferred place to buy Memory Cards
eBay $20.90
Office Works $37
Kogan $29 + freight
JB HiFi $54.95
Dick Smith $76.98
And the Dick Smith looks like some Home Brand card, you'd think the Sandisk would the most reliable?
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!

Dick Smith is or was owned by Woolworths and I think Office Works belongs to the West Farmers Group who run Coles and Bunnings.
Some DS outlets are 'Company stores' and the others Franchised.
I found it odd at times when comparing prices between Dick Smith and Big W to see DS was dearer on either the same branded item or similar even with the 2 stores across the road from each other.
If I had my 'duthers' I would prefer to buy from Jaycar than Dick Smith.
I have just had a roughly 2 year old 32GB SD card branded 'Masters' that was in a Tablet die for no reason and unfortunately I have no idea where I bought it from now.

You might like to have a look also at the Samsung micro SD 32GB EVO Memory Card which I personally use and have not had any problems with in 2 years. The transfer rate is 48 MB per second and one good place to buy is MSY. Here is the link to the Micro sd card
Sandisk is a reputable brand for memory products.
The cards from the suppliers you have listed all appear to be the same in terms of physical size(micro) and speed (class 10).
Dick Smith prices do usually appear to be considerably higher than those cited at other retail outlets.
Prices will, to some extent, reflect the vendor's buying price, so this will also account for retail price variation.
A retailer's purchase price depends on source country, quantity purchased, relationship with manufacturer/wholesaler, exchange rate at purchase or payment time, as well as other factors.
Purchase prices are often negotiated many months in advance of delivery.
An eBay store operating out of a small industrial complex or a home office, will have vastly lower overheads than a vendor occupying a prestigious shopping centre premises.
Personally, I have bought a number of SD cards from eBay sellers in the past and they are still working satisfactorily after years of service.
Although there are "guidelines" for quoting the speed of SD cards, manufacturers do manage to cite different speeds for what appears to be the same product.
A quick Google search will explain this and other things you should know about SD cards.

A friend of mine has some time ago purchased what looked like a 100% genuine 32GB micro SD card on Ebay and then discovered that it would only hold 1GB of data.
He discovered this using the really good utility "H2testw" that you can use to check if your SD card is genuine:
It is a very handy little utility, which also showed it was around ten times slower than a standard SD.
I've learned from this that I just wouldn't buy a memory card or anything of that type off Ebay as there's just too many fakes.

The last 32Gb Micro SD i purchased was from eBay, it was one of the Samsung 32Gb Class 10 cards.
Has been used in S3 handset for the passed 2 years, seems to be fine, but i will test it with your link.
The only thing it hasn't liked, is files over 4Gb downloaded to it, but that may just be its format.
Yes, this new card is also for a smartphone, so needs to be a Class 10 with the fastest read/write speeds i can find.
Looks like Officeworks for a quality card, wonder if they will price match less 5% the eBay stores
(Last time i did this, the eBay store just had to be Australian and product not a Grey Import)
EDIT:
Nothing in the fine print that says prices cant be matched to eBay stores.

I guess like all 'standard's' there are parameter's and so long as the device falls between the minimum and maximum requirements, its acceptable.
I have only dealt once with Officeworks online when I bought a portable HDD and what they didnt tell me when I was making the order was the item I wanted was not in stock and was on 'Back Order' with no fixed time of availability.
From memory it was about 4 weeks before I received it with no advise that it had become available and was being sent.

Masses of fake cards flooding the markets these days (incl. Amazon marketplace, eBay etc) .... most originating from some wheelie bin outside a Chinese factory. Also never blue eyeish trust in a seller who might be a 'power seller' with 100% feedback.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENUINE AND FAKE Sandisk 32 GB micro SD:
1. Package:
The genuine pack is sealed and cannot be split open. The fake is just pasted at the edges and the fake item will be all loose inside. Again, as far as I am aware, Sandisk does not provide any SD adaptors (Kingston does) but nearly all eBay items have a 'free adaptor' inside the same pack.
2. Check the barcode:
If you have a iPhone with a barcode facility (like a Amazon/eBay app), check the barcode on the reverse of the pack. Reprtedly a fake item bought off eBay barcode reads 4GB instead of 32 GB.
3. Check the external details:
Sandisk produce different 32 GB micro SD cards. Look onto their website what types. eBay sellers are selling fakes as 'Class 10'!!!
4. Check the inner details:
Once you open the pack, check the card. All genuine cards should have a serial number and a manufacturing country's identity. Fake ones neither have any such details and the external details are painted in a hazy style.
5. The Catch:
When you put in a fake micro SD card for the first time, you will be surprised to find that it reads the correct GB in the properties. Apparently the goons have made a software which enables the card's storage properties to give out a false capacity. One way to check this is to copy at least 60% date of the 'claimed' capacity and check the card in 2-3 days time. There will be lost data in all fake ones.
To be honest, i doubt you could trust Officeworks or any other retailer

I would have thought price markups would be a better description, regardless, it's no different to labour rates & parts prices for tradespeople.
It's a case of what the market will bear.
have Sandisk micro-SD Ultra 32Gb for $44-83 & 64Gb for $90-53. (both plus freight.)
I use Officeworks for some of my technology purchases as things do break, & I want to be able to resolve the issue with a physical presence, not a cloud representative. At the end of the day, my time is worth something, so I will sometimes pay a premium for the convenience factor.

have bought several hundred cards from them without a problem
don't get too hung up on read and write speeds, figures are rarely met, if you want good quality look for MLC rather than TLC memory, if it's just in a smartphone or similar it's not going to matter that much though
ol' boy (27-04-15)
as jok11n says figures are sort of a guide only
Thanks fellas, appreciate the advice.
Irony is, a 64GB Micro SD card, cost almost the same price as i paid for s/hand Samsung Note 8.0
If u want to go on an expedition get a Land Rover, if u want to come home from an expedition get a Landcruiser!
