Issued Just after WW1 this 1920 RSL Returned services league membership badge would of been issued to a WW1 veteran , maker marked Wallace bishop .
I have done a little , he was born in Malta 1877 , he served in India for British army where the British Commonwealth awarded this set of medals for his service , then he moved around the world in various conflicts under the church , then mr Flores and wife moved to Australia in 1937 where he served during WW2 as a Chaplin , he then died of old age in 1952 in NSW Australia .
Did you have any luck with his WW1 records ? Unfortunately a lot got burnt during Germany's bombing of London in WW2 but some survived. If you dont have them, or dont know whether they exist or not, post up his full name and service number off the medals and I can have a look for you. Was he a chaplain in WW1 as well ?
I have had an amazingly good run with British WW1 records lately I am sure it will end soon.
Yes a lot of records were toasted , British records tend to be harder to research than Australian ,
I've searched through ancestry.com with a paid subscription and emailed "the church" and contacted the historical society where he lived and looked at electoral records for the information I've found so far . Some church people that served in WW2 were not put on the gov nominal roll I've found .

Here is a Swiss made Australian issued WW2 pocket watch , issued to 45477 Mr HENNESSEY, RAAF , he served in 85th squadron for most of WW2 . And best of all it still works .
This medallion was created after the tragic event , note the skeleton selling tickets ,
The sinking of RMS Lusitania on 7 May 1915 was a hugely significant event during the First World War. The ship was sunk by a torpedo, a fact indicative of the increased use of submarines in marine warfare, which helped it become even more dangerous than it had been previously. The tragedy of the loss of life that included civilian passengers had global repercussions that contributed to the eventual decision taken by the United States to enter the conflict. It also sparked something of a medallic propaganda war.

I also have a Lusitania Medal. It took me quite a long time to find one in the quality I wanted, as most boxes are almost destroyed. as you can see this one is about as good as it gets, I also have propaganda sheet of paper that came with it. I posted some info about it ages ago, if anyone is keen to read a bit more about the medal itself.

Very nice admin , do you have any other Militaria treasures ?
Yes, it is nice, I reckon I trawled ebay for a year to find it.
Yeah, I have lots of bits and pieces. Mainly medals, but some of everything. Nothing super expensive, I am simply not rich enough
Here's something I just snapped that's next to my computer. I got this from someone that was *shudder* going to throw it out.
Damn, bugger if I cant get that second one to stand up the right way Try again
that would be one of the nicest looking pieces of shell trench art i think ive seen in a while ,
Thanks mate, I agree with you. I was absolutely stoked to get it, my inlaws in country Victoria were at a friends place who was cleaning out a shed and was going to throw it. They only grabbed it because it had Gallipoli written on it.
I obviously dont know its past, but its fair to say that it is from a soldier from the first or second division based on the places listed.
The "soldiers cap" shell is French and dated 1911 while the main body is German and dated OKT 1917.
