We had a massive database crash last night.

Some of you may have noticed that new posts were appearing in strange places in threads, ie, not last where they were meant to be. But a page refresh seemed to fix it.

But last night, POW ! The DB exploded, it was still there but came up as zero in size which about a stage 10 disaster on our scale. Basically the lot had gone.

Fortunately, as we have managed hosting they had us backup and running pretty quickly.

MySQL failure, though the other did cross my mind. The database problems in the last couple of days now make sense

And interestingly, it seems we are still getting incorrect post placement.

    Thanks for the explanation admin.
I have noticed the wrong post placement for at least 5 or 6 days.

I thought it was something that had hijacked my browser.
    Appreciate the heads up

I probably should have posted it up a couple of days ago, anyway, I will try and work out exactly what the problem still is with posts.

Kudos to our host in the US, they restored our entire database and had us back online 11 minutes after I requested it.

I, too, noticed the odd post placement, more a nuisance than a worry. Good host to have us back so quickly.

I'm not sure you can get rid of it, I tried everything, save yourself some time & treat 1 as the new zero as lsemmens suggested, that works for me.
    Cheers, Tiny

best thing to do when any forum has a server issue, is to clear all your cache and cookies for that said forum
