I wonder if it will negotiate trees or obstacles?

    EDIT:
    Does Lily have obstacle avoidance?

Currently, Lily does not have any obstacle avoidance capabilities. We have found that most outdoor activities do not need obstacle avoidance because Lily can follow the user's path. But again, there are no guarantees that Lily will not hit anything while it is following you. If Lily is about to hit an object you can press the middle button on the tracking device and Lily will stop, hold its position, and continue to film you.
Either way, what a brilliant bit of kit.
I was looking for one of these 18months ago, looks like they made it

I'd hate to climb to a lookout, throw Lily in the air and she didn't come back though
All this makes you wonder what the Army have

I can see this idea being swiftly adapted to existing main stream drones.
Actually, i thought it already was.

But the throw in the air and film idea is really cool, it will capture a whole new market with its concept and simplicity.

This would be almost the most perfect drone for those like me who while trying to remember which Lever/Button/Knob does what and 'where is it and damn, I have fallen over my own feet again not looking where I am going ' inept and challenged operator.
I gather if you have enough sense to check where you want it to go first and minimise obstacles in the path of the area you want to cover, so long as you remember to turn on the 'Follow Me', you have 10~20 minutes to 'Shoot' and then let it land in an easy retrievable soft landing spot.

US$499 plus difference of exchange and cost, Joe's 'Netflix' GST Tax of $50, say another $50 for Postage and Handling still brings it under AU$ 700 which if it does all that the video shows is FANTASTIC !!!
I want ONE, I want ONE, I want ONE!!!!!!

Yeah the concept of follow me is used in a few drones, not at this level though on the consumer market.

Unfortunately what we are seeing is a promotional video, not a user video. So no guarantees of a trouble free experience.

When I posted this I had not delved deep enough to realise it was a funding the concept style of venture. OOPs.

Absolutely right ben, gamble is; pay half price & expect a return in eight months or not. Alternative is wait & pay full price for the finished product if it makes it to production??

Seems like a lot of development still to go.

But, there is no doubt, they are going to sell shit loads of them!
You could do worse things than invest in their company, even a lazy $20k investment wouldn't be much of a risk i wouldn't think.

I hope someone on here buys this first model.
The "Drone" flying restrictions will be the only concern.

Another Start up company thats been aided by 3D Printing

I wonder if their phones have stopped ringing from Investors, Manufacturers, GoPro, Foxxcon and alike.

Yes, I really like the concept & would love one, however I still see projects like this that take a bit longer to deliver than expected, remember we looked at the Airdog which has the same functions, yet with the ability to carry a GoPro; is still in pre-order??
