    Default Pye Vidmatic service manual

Can anyone assist me please with a manual for a Pye Vidmatic 10" set - model number 10 7531KZ?
Apparently this is actually the same as a Sharp TV with the model number C-1001SP.

Nice little retro TV that runs on 230 as well as 12 V DC.

These are a badged Sharp and were sold in Australia as a Philips KA910 or a KA920. I still have a functional KA920 and repaired many of these models back in the good times.
The main problem with them is the start up capacitors around the horizontal oscillator circuit. The power supply is quite robust and rarely fails. The flyback transformer was prone to failure and is NLA.
I have a service manual somewhere but it is unlikely I could lay my hands on it any time soon.

Thanks TV Guy. I have two sets. Both exhibit the same symptoms. Switch on and there is the usual current surge as the PSU caps charge up then nothing. No sign of life at all.
I've not repaired one of these before.
You mention the startup caps around the horiz osc. Can you point me closer to these?
I haven't checked the flyback transformer for shorts yet. I guess that is the best place to start.
Interesting to see they were badged as Philips as well.

Your are testing my capacity for recollection Studio1. I found some scribbled notes on what appears to be parchment.
IC501 pin 9 is the protection input and should be at 0 volts. It only takes microsecond pulse to shut it down.
I have noted transistor Q604 as being suspect as well as elctrolytics around the IC.
Perhaps I may find some more information in an archaeological dig through the catacombs of my workshop? Some stone tablets with words of wisdom?

TV Guy, you are indeed a fine scribe!
Thank you for the parchment notes thus far.
Should you manage an archeological dig in the catacombs, I'd be very interested to see the results of your foray!

    Hi Guys.

    A few years later i Know !.
Has anyone by any chance got the original User Manual for this Set ?.
I just picked up a PYE Version - Model 10 7531KZ which is still running fairly nicely.
I grabbed it at a Garage sale for $5.00 Totally the deal of the year (In Full Orange Aswell)

Anyway i remember my Uncle having one back in the 80s which i thought was awesome.

Does any one know what the Tuning Colours stand For.
When Tuning it has a Green Tuning Bar, and a Red Tuning Bar.

Im not sure exactly if this set came out with VL/VH and UHF onboard.

Any Comments or help greatly appreciated.
