Default I fluffed the install and now I'm stuck.

My desktop has been running an OEM Win 7 Ultimate. I have reserved a copy of Win 10 for it but the Win 7 install has been failing so I decided to reinstall it (repair). That's where I went wrong. I used the wrong Win 7 disk and so at the end of install it doesn't recognise the OEM serial. No problem I thought I'll just reinstall with the right disk. Not so, the disk I used is apparantly newer than the OEM one and won't let me go backwards. I have about 25 days left to activate. Short of format and go again (not the prefered option) What other options do I have? I know I should have been patient and waited for the Win 10 install to fix the problems. My bad.

In the recent past I've upgraded several Win7 OEM PCs to . Yes the OEM product key always wasn't accepted. Workaround was to phone Microsoft (toll free) within the 30-days-trial period to obtain a product key, of course for free. Always got one!
