Why Windoze? There are good alternatives.

Because most PC games are intended to be run on a PC with Windows OS, IMO best OS for a gamer PC is Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 (64 bit) - they're all the same. We know this OS is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10 when available.

Search Amazon for Windows 8.1 System Builder OEM DVD 64-Bit.

Of course it's possible to run "Windows games" under Linux distributions if you install aside "Linux" Wine which is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications.

The alternative suggestion to Phil was in response to his comment
    only let down was windowz
. I am well aware of the "compatibility" issues with non Windoze OS. I have, on many occasions moved to an alternative OS only being forced to return to the M$ mould because of incompatible hardware and software.

yes it was meant as a hardware post
dont turn it into another os post for jesus sake

referring to windows was only a light comment meaning how long it takes top install-update configure compared to building the computer

My initial response was meant in the same vein as the "only let down" comment. Sorry.
