How To Wire a Masthead Amp To a Antenna
hey guys
we had someone come in and install a antenna for us about 8-10 months back.
He used a spider web of different splitters etc to get the connection going to about 8 rooms in our house.
When i installed our sat dish, i also installed a multiswitch.
So i undid most of his work, and wing'd it as much as i could...
I ended up feeding the Antenna in to the multiswitch antenna in and then the two sattilite signals in as well. I forgot about the Masthead amp power cable.
I know theres a 12V power connection which is fed through a rg6 cable. Do i need to run a splitter. So on the top single leg it leads to the antenna and on the bottom two, one leads to the 12V power adapter and the second one goes to the multiswitch?
Does that make sense?
Looking at getting up on the roof tonight and re-wiring it up nicely.
any help would be great otherwise it's gonna be a long night full of trial and error
cheers

you should be able to inject the power to the masthead amp on the final cable run to the antenna, between the multiswitch and the mast head preamp.
