My last PC had a Atheros Killer e2100 network card. With all the claims of better online gaming pings and blar blar, I found it have higher pings, higher latency. So disabled it in bios and installed a PCI Realtec GB card. Which has much better game pings and so on.

My new PC, x99 Gigabyte Gamer5 has the Atheros e2200 Killer in it, again same issues, my regular game pings are up by 20% and often include ping spikes, added to that is a multiple times per day the driver for the Killer network e22w8x64 is causing BSOD. So went down the same path as my old PC, disabled the Killer in bios and installed a PCIe Realtek Network card. Guess what !! game pings now same as my old PC. And to early to tell yet, but no BSOD.

So .... FU Atheros, twice Bitten ...
At least Bios has the option to disable it. Thank God.
